Each season, we come together to talk about important issues, share updates on the Calls for Change, and create space for real community voices to guide the path forward.
These gatherings are about listening, learning, and working together. They offer an open door for community to shape the changes they want to see and ensure that progress is rooted in the voices of those most impacted.

Gathering of Voices is a seasonal event where First Light staff come together with community and allies to talk about urban Indigenous priorities, reflect on progress toward truth and reconciliation, and reaffirm commitments to the Calls for Change.

Message from the Gathering
Through storytelling, shared learning, and open dialogue, we gather not only to listen, but to be heard and to shape what change looks like from the ground up. This isn’t a space where decisions are made about people: it’s where decisions are made with people. It’s where lived experiences guide action, where relationships are strengthened, and where community priorities help shape how we show up for our community.
From reflecting on progress toward truth and reconciliation, to navigating the Calls for Change that grew out of sustained community engagement, this gathering reminds us that when voices come together in care and respect, real movement happens.
