Community Indigenous Patient Navigators (IPNs) serve to bridge the gap between Indigenous patients and health care professionals, helping to ensure culturally safe, respectful, and informed care.
Our community Indigenous Patient Navigators can help Indigenous patients that are living in the St. John’s Metro area.
Services the Community IPN may provide are:
- Providing referral and/or advocacy to Indigenous patients to ensure access to the most appropriate health care options
- Navigation and escorting patients to appointments
- Assisting with health related documents and applications
- Assisting patients with transportation barriers, medical supplies navigating the healthcare system within the St. John’s Metro area
