Overview
First Light, in partnership with the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking Indigenous craft presentors to lead hands-on workshops during the Spirit Song Festival.
We are looking for experienced Indigenous makers and knowledge holders who are interested in sharing traditional craft techniques, skills, and cultural knowledge through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Workshops should focus on intermediate to advanced techniques that go beyond introductory instruction, or support the preservation and transmission of traditional Indigenous craft practices, particularly those at risk of being lost.
We welcome proposals that encourage meaningful skill development, cultural knowledge sharing, and the continuation of traditional making practices across generations.
Workshop Details
- Dates: November 15–22, 2026
- Location: First Light’s Event Centre for Performance and Creativity, St. John’s
- Duration: Workshops should be approximately 4 hours. Longer workshops may be considered depending on the craft technique and learning objectives.
