What to Expect
Stories Begin Somewhere is an introductory workshop that invites participants to explore the art of scriptwriting through storytelling, lived experience, and Indigenous perspectives. Participants will discover the fundamentals of writing for performance and screen, examine the work of Canadian Indigenous writers, and explore how characters, dialogue, conflict, and secrets can bring a story to life. Through a guided, beginner-friendly writing activity, participants will begin developing a short scene of their own. No previous writing or scriptwriting experience is necessary — just a willingness to explore, create, and get it on the page.
