Location: Pippy Park – Northbank Lodge (Nagles Place) | St. John’s, NL
What to Expect:
On September 30, we invite community members of all ages, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to come together in remembrance and learning. We honour Survivors and their families, hold space for the children who never came home, and recommit ourselves to the work of truth, healing, and real change.
We will have a small Memorial Walk displaying items, quotes and symbols at this event. If you need support, staff will be available to guide you through, and to help you if you choose to not visit the Memorial Walk. We are here to support you in the way that you need. If you have questions, please reach out to our team!
To conclude our event, we will be walking down to a lake to place an offering. We will have limited space for anyone with mobility needs to support them accessing the ceremony area.
Parking Information
To help keep everyone safe and ensure the rally runs smoothly, please note the following parking guidelines:
Available Parking: You may park in the Fluvarium parking lot (5 Nagles Place)
🧡 Accessibility: For those with limited mobility, temporary access can be granted to drop attendees off at the rally meeting location. Staff will be present to help direct parking.
Extra Parking: If the on-site lots are full for any reason, additional parking is available at the Confederation Building. Please use caution and be safe on your walk to Pippy Park, using designated sidewalks and crossings.
Event Information
Meeting Location: We will gather in the parking lot of the Northbank Lodge at 2:00 PM.
Wear orange if you can. Bring your drums and your voice to join us in song.
🦮 Bringing Pets: Pets are welcome, but must remain on-leash or in carriers at all times. Please keep in mind that this will be a large gathering, and ensure your pet is comfortable in a busy and energetic environment. For everyone’s comfort and safety, we also ask that you make it clear to others whether or not your pet may be approached. There may not be pet bags available, so please prepare to clean up after your pet!
⚠️ This event takes place outside the Northbank Lodge in Pippy Park. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Washroom access is available near the facility, as well as inside, if necessary.
