Previously the home to all of First Light’s programs and services, this location now serves as an administrative hub for our Social Supports and Programming teams. This site hosts programming for small groups, and provides a range of individual services which include employment counselling, cultural support, housing support, and private counselling.
97 Elizabeth Avenue
Home to the First Light Childcare Centre, this location hosts an infant, preschool and afterschool program for children ages newborn to twelve years of age. Following an emergent curriculum, the centre provides regulated full time care to 35 children, Monday to Friday.
42 Bannerman Street/81 Cochrane Street/1 Stewart Avenue
This historic property spans three city streets, and is home to a flurry of activity. This location plays host to the majority of First Light’s community programming, has 15 affordable housing units, a commercial kitchen, event spaces, and a performance space. Formerly operated by the Cochrane Street United Church, this location is now operated by First Light as its Centre for Performance and Creativity.
36 Quidi Vidi Road
This newly acquired property is undergoing renovations to become the new home of our Boutique Inn. This location looks forward to hosting travellers from Indigenous communities who are visiting the city for medical appointments and are supported by our medical transportation team. This location features guest suites designed by Indigenous artists, and common spaces where guests can come together to share food and stories.
40 Quidi Vidi Road
Home to the future First Light headquarters, this location is being prepared for construction to better suit the needs of the urban Indigenous community and the surrounding neighborhood. The organization is seeking financial support to execute its plans, and hopes to begin construction in late Fall 2021.
70 Brookfield Rd
Currently serving as the temporary headquarters for First Light, this location accommodates many of our staff members while we await the completion of renovations at 40 Quidi Vidi Road. This site supports our team in continuing their important work during this transitional period.
25 Buckmasters Circle
Home to First Light’s School Age Childcare program, this location provides a safe and nurturing environment for children. The program offers a range of activities and support services designed to meet the needs of school-aged children.
