Orange Shirt Day 2025 Design Contest

Calling All Indigenous Youth

This is your chance to share your creativity and honour the meaning of Orange Shirt Day — remembering and recognizing Residential School Survivors, their families, and the children who never made it home.

Are you in grades K–12? We want your design to be featured on this year’s Orange Shirt Day t-shirt!

  • Who can enter: Indigenous youth in grades K–12, living in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Theme: The meaning of Orange Shirt Day and its message of truth and reconciliation.
  • Design requirements: Black and white only, on 8.5” x 11” white paper.
  • Deadline: August 27, 2025 — late entries will not be accepted.
  • The winner will receive a small prize and your design featured on the official Orange Shirt Day t-shirt!

Winner Recognition

If your design is chosen, you’ll be photographed and interviewed about your artwork, and your story will be featured on First Light’s social media, website, and other promotional materials.
