Orange Shirt Day

Rally for Reconciliation – Event Details

Time: 2:00 to 3:00 PM (NST)

Location: Confederation Building | St. John’s, NL
(100 Prince Philip Drive)

What to Expect:

On September 30, we invite community members of all ages—Indigenous and non-Indigenous—to come together in remembrance and learning. We honour Survivors and their families, hold space for the children who never came home, and recommit ourselves to the work of truth, healing, and real change.

Parking Information

To help keep everyone safe and ensure the rally runs smoothly, please note the following parking guidelines:

đźš« Blocked Areas: We ask that participants keep the Front Parking Lot cleared. This area must stay clear to keep the front of the building open and safe for all participants to gather.

âś… Available Parking: You may park in Rear Parking Lot 1, Rear Parking Lot 2, or the Side Parking Lot.

⚠️ Public parking only—please avoid spots marked “reserved” for government employees. Please respect their spaces and leave them clear.

đźš— Extra Parking: If the on-site lots are full for any reason, additional parking is available at the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) campus. Please use caution and be safe on your walk to the Confederation Building, using designated sidewalks and crossings.

Event Information

📍 Meeting Location: We will gather on the grassy field to the far left entrance of the Confederation Building (when facing the front) at 2:00 PM.

🧡 Wear orange if you can. Bring your drums and your voice to join us in song.

✊ Important Reminder: This is a peaceful demonstration.

🦮 Bringing Pets: Pets are welcome, but must remain on-leash or in carriers at all times. Please keep in mind that this will be a large gathering, and ensure your pet is comfortable in a busy and energetic environment. For everyone’s comfort and safety, we also ask that you make it clear to others whether or not your pet may be approached. There may not be pet bags available, so please prepare to clean up after your pet!

⚠️ This event takes place outside the Confederation Building, where there will be limited access to washrooms. Please plan accordingly.
