Connecting Community Through Culture & Wellness
At First Light, our Social Supports encompass a variety of programs and services designed to strengthen the well-being of urban Indigenous individuals in the St. John’s Metro Region. Through culturally relevant support, we foster connection, healing, and community growth.
Cultural Support
We provide guidance and resources tailored to the unique experiences of urban Indigenous individuals. Our services include cultural connection and navigation, system navigation, goal setting, and skill-building. We also offer land-based healing activities and support for various programs within First Light.

Peer Supports Program
This Indigenous-led recovery group offers a supportive space for individuals seeking healing and healthier coping strategies related to substance use and mental health. Rooted in cultural connection, the program emphasizes safety, resilience, and community throughout the recovery journey. As part of our peer support efforts, we also provide Naloxone kits and harm reduction materials to support the well-being of the Urban Indigenous community.
