Tuesday, April 8, 2025

St. John’s, NL — This evening First Light is hosting an All Candidates Forum on urban Indigenous issues, bringing together federal candidates running in the St. John’s East riding. The public event will allow candidates to speak directly with members of the St. John’s urban Indigenous community and our allies about the issues that matter most in the context of truth and reconciliation.

The forum is part of First Light’s broader efforts to encourage civic engagement and promote inclusive political dialogue during the 2025 federal election campaign. Candidates will have the opportunity to address questions on themes including Indigenous rights, urban Indigenous leadership, sustainable services, and cultural revitalization.

All candidates seeking election in St. John’s East have confirmed their intention to participate.
