After School Youth Program Application

First Light is a registered non-profit organization that serves the urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous community alike by providing programs and services rooted in the revitalization, strengthening and celebration of Indigenous cultures and languages in the spirit of trust, respect, and friendship. 

First Light is so excited to be bringing back our 5 day after school youth program! This is just an application process, this is not final registration for the program. We will be prioritizing Indigenous families, First Light staff members children, anyone who as attended previous after school programs, our day care after school program and our regular weekly programming. Please note that we are not offering transportation to this program. Our youth program will be a safe, non-judgmental space for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to come together and participate in both cultural and non-cultural activities. This program will focus on their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being through activities. Such as, homework hour, crafts, drumming, outdoor time, book club, and more. We will be incorporating First Lights mission into our program, focusing on trust, respect and friendship among the youth and staff.  

Your child will be expected to bring appropriate clothing, such as indoor footwear, rain gear etc. As well, please bring a water bottle and any technology that they like to use. We will be providing snacks.
