Focus Group – Racism & Online Hate

We would like to invite you to take part in a small focus group to discuss anti-racism and hate speech online within the Indigenous community. The discussion will take place on November 9th and will run from 6:30 – 7:30pm at 42 Bannerman Street. We are asking Indigenous community members for any opinions and experience with online racism and hate speech to assist with the development of an online hate & racism training module. The discussion will focus on topics such as any experience with hateful and racist comments on social media, misconceptions/stereotypes about Indigenous people perpetuated in the media, and suggestions you may have for how to best address online hate and racism. A meal for participants will be provided, as well as transportation if required.

If you aren’t able to attend this session, but would still like to share your thoughts, please let us know.

We hope to see you there!
